CHARITY AND SAFETY MAKE 27 BARIATRIC SURGERIES IN 16 HOURS A REAL SPECIAL INITIATIVE FOR US
“There were no complications in any of the 27 bariatric surgeries that we performed in 16 hours, as a part of our charitable initiative to operate on poor patients who were suffering from obesity but could not fully afford weight loss surgery. All patients have been discharged after the due diligence” said Dr Manish Khaitan, Director, NObesity.
Long hours on their feet, a line-up of procedures, meticulous planning and flawless execution. 27 surgeries in 16 hours was no mean feat for team NObesity, KD Hospital and other stakeholders involved.
On 6th May 2019 at 6:00 pm, Dr. Manish Khaitan along with a team of 30 doctors and staff started surgery on their first patient.
By 10:00 am the next day, they had finished their twenty-seventh procedure successfully.
The total included 15 Gastric bypass (RYGB) and 12 Gastric sleeve minimally invasive key hole procedures that ensure pain free and quick recovery for patients who walk within a few hours after surgery.
This special initiative was collaborated by K D Hospital to mark their first anniversary.
The surgeries treated a spectrum of individuals, both men and women, ranging from body weight of 160 kgs to 93 kgs.
Each case was examined on individual merit, and a suitable treatment plan was devised and implemented.
NObesity has been a pioneer in the field of bariatric surgery and has done thousands complex procedures in our journey to be India’s finest center for Bariatric Weight loss surgery, with continued support from all well wishers and the city of Ahmadabad.
So for us, it was an opportunity to give back to society by helping these patients leads a more fulfilling life.
We thank everyone who made this challenging and greatly satisfying initiative possible.
